PALWERSTON WINTER SHOW.

In opening the Show to-day the Hon. T. Mackenzie, Minister of Agriculture, congratulated the Association on the great strides it had made. He said ha 1 learnt from Mr Cuddle, Dairy Commissioner, that the dairying classes were of high order of quality, and he was thoroughly satisfied with them. Judging commenced at an early hour in the morning. The championship apples, open , to the whole of the Dominion, was won by Cushing, of Olive; J. W. Mayo, Palmerston, second; Stoke Fruitgrowers’ Association, Nelson, ‘third. Twenty entries were received from different parts of the Dominion.
