WESTRALIAN BANQUET.
United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received June 12, 8.15 a.m. London, June 11. At the Westralian banquet Mr Hall-Jones was present. Mr Ranaon, presiding, proposed the toast of the “Empire” and referred to the marvellous growth of thepmperial spirit. The Colonies now recognised that they must take up a share of the burden of Empire and make plain to other nations that they must calculate not on the strength of an> portion of the Empire but on that of the whole.
