Received June 12, 10.20 a.m. Melbourne,’June 12. Cabinet dismissed the defence questions, which!? are likely to present themselves at a London Conference. Mr Fcxton who leaves on Wednesday accompanied by Captain Oresswell and Colonel Bridges asadvisers, has been placed in full possession of tbe views of Government. The State Cabinet decided to include preferential voting in the Electoral Reform Bill. Adelaide, June 13. Mr Pendleton, Railway Commissioner, has been retired after 33 years service.
AUSTRALIAN LABOUR PARTY. At a meeting of the Australian Labour Party to protest against Mr Peake taking office, the announcement was made that no alliance will be made by the Labour Party with any other party in future. A message dictated by Mr Price just before his death was read urging the Party to take courage,and adding: “The Labour cause is the cause of humanity, is a just cause, and must eventually win.”
