CURIOUS LAWSUIT.
Ooncierges are not "invariably remarkable for amiability or politeness, and tenants who happen to fail foul of, them usually come off second best, An energetic woman has, # however, so far contrived to score against her concierge, and her as well, by means of very ingenious tactics,- which could only be devised in a resolute feminine brain. War to the knife was declared long ago between her and her concierge, and a lawsuit about some correspondences had so disgusted the landlord that he had summarily evicted his fair tenant. But the lady wasi not to be baffled, and as the landlord would not consent to take her baoK on any terms, and she was keen after victory, she abandoned the frontal attack on which she had bo long been engaged for a turning, movement. Among the tenants ot that particular house were several bachelors, and she bethought her of one who had a very long lease. A bint that she was willing led to a marriage with this gentleman, and after the wedding she retarded to the bouse in triumph, and, to the consternation of the defeated conoierge, who has now 'a couple of determined foes instead of one. In utter despair, the landlord has applied to the law courts, and an investigation has been ordered, but it is difficult to see on what ground the newly-wedded pair can be expelled from their abode.
