FEILDING TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting was held last night. Present, Messrs Oohbe, Mayo, Trewin, Loohhead, Reid, Tolley, Bruce, Montgomery, Hill, and E. Goodbehere, in the chair. The Director reported that all the classes were progressing satisfactorily, though there was a slight falling off in the attendance due chiefly to a lack of interest in the literature and plumbing classes. Mr Cahill having been selected as woolclasser, he would start his duties at Ashhurst on Wednesday next. The Director had endeavoured to stare classes in French, Maori, English and Latin, but only one person bad applied in respect to Latin. of £3 from High School Committee and £lO from Manawatu County Council were acknowledged with thanks.
Correspondence in regard to establishment of wool-classes showed there is every probability of their success. Mr J. Bruce promised to give a lew flepoes. / The Chairman mentioned the intention of the Director to accept a position at Napier and he expressed the regret of the committee at losing Mr Fossey. The Director j stated he was not able to obtain a teacher for the dressmaking classes at Ashhurst and Pohangina. It was decided that Dr. Findlay be asked to deliver a lecture in aid of the funds of the School when he comes to open the Court House.
