• Press Association. Wanganui, June 8. The Supreme Court sessions opened this morning. Judge Chapman in his charge to the Grand Jury, congratulated them that their duties would he light. After referring to several criminal oases His Honor dealt With the case of alleged murder in which three distinct charges wefa grouped in one, Gariick feeing charged with attempting to murder ’Chatfleld, with attempting to terrify the latter’s >vife, and with attempted sucida. The two men had been in company and Gariick, in an excited state, had said Chatfleld was killed, ami that he (Gariick) had chucked him over into the river. Cfcatfiald was subsequently found caught ia the scrub on the river bank. He had evidently been dragged across the road to the river side.
