Press Association
Taihape, Jnne 7
In reference to the alleged starvation case the result of inquiries show that the man’s wife and child certainly had a hard time. The husband was not connected with the '■ timber industry, and is a man who would not work when he had every chance. The family live on Ahura road, ten miles from Raetihi, where the husband was brought frorn another district while in distressed circumstances. He has received money and help in other ways, but he is at) anti-works*. Strong resentment is felt herd and at Raetihi at the on the district through sensational press headings. The case is entirely isolated.
