Nominations for all events will close at the Secretary’s office, Marton, on FRIDAY, 13th August, at 7.30 p.m. Weights for the First Day’s Events will be declared on or about WEDNESDAY, 18tb August, 1909- and for the Second Day’s Events at the office of the Club at 8 p.m. on t*.e evening of the First Day. Acceptances tor the First Day’s Events will close with the Secretary, at the office ef the Club, Marton, on TUESDAY, 24th August, 1909, at 7.30 p.m., and for the Second Day’s Events at the same place at 9 o’clock on the evening of the First Day. RULES. All Bacas to be run under the New Zealand Rules of Racing. ■ A Hack is a horse which has not, at time of nomination, won a race of the value of 100 sovs., or races of the collective value of 250 sovs. The winner of any race after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 71bs; of two or more races, lOlbs. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary Marton Jockey Club, Marton, and entrance money to be enclosed, with name of horse, age at time of entry, name of owner and trainer pedigree and colours of riders. All nominations by wire must be confirmed by letter by first mail afterwards. Bookmakers, their clerks, agents, or assistants, unless licensed by the Club, will not be allowed on the grounds of the Marton Jockey Club. A Hunter is a horse whose owner can produce at scales a certificate from the Master of any Hunt that the horse has been ridden the hounds during the past season' to the satisfaction of the Master, and neither won nor is nominated at the date of entry for a race of -£4O or oV e r _Hack and Hunter r’ces excepted.
