’ STOCK REPORT
Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report At our Pal* merstoa North sale on Thursday, the 3rd inst., we had a very fair yarding of stock, all of which sold with the exception of one small pen at following prices .-—Small ewe lambs 8s 2d, aged ewes m lamb 6s 5d to 7s lid, mixed age lambs to 8s 6d, ' torwaid ewes to Bs, 4, 6 and f.f.m. ewes medium line 11s. At.oar Taihape sale on Tuesday, 2nd inst., we had a medium yarding of stock which sold as follows Gull lambs to 4s 9d, wether lambs 7s Id, mixed limbs to 8s 4d, 2-tootb wethers to ll2s 2d, fat cows to £4 2s. There was a good demand and all classes of„Jbock sold readily at auction. M * Messrs Auraham & Williams, Ltd., report on Palmerston sale: —We had a small yarding of both sheep and cattle.. The attendance was small owing to it being a public holiday. All classes of stock sold at onrs'ent rates, wethers and young breeding ewes being in keen demand, we quote;—Two-tooth wethers 9s lid to llsi 4d, forward lambs 7s 6d to 9s, small lambs 2s 6d to 5s 6d, aged breeding ewes 6s Id Jo 8s lid, forward ewes 8a 6d, fat ewes 13s. Cattle; Store cows £3 10a, fat heifers £3 7s, yearling heifers 88s. We held our monthly Raumai sale on June Ist. Sheep and cattle came forward in excess of advertised numbers and we have to report a successful sale. We quote: —Sheep : Lambs 6s 4d to 7s so aged ewes in lamb 6s to 6s 9d, wethers 12s. Cattle: 18-months steers £2 9s, 2-year steers £2 12S ( 6d to £3 ss, empty heifers 80s to 375, forward empty cows £3 to £3 10s 6d, mixed wethers ISa, cows and calves £2 6s fid. We also offered Mr T. Hall’s herd of 14 cowswhich realised good prices, the whole herd averaging £6 18s 6d. GRAIN MARKET. Dunedin, June 2. Consignments of oats are coming forward more freely, and good to ' prime Gartens and sparrowbills are in fair demand. Medium and inferior lines have not the same attention. Prime milling, A grade Gartons, Is 7d to Is -8d ; sparrowbills. efeo., la 6d|to Is 7d; good to best feed to Is 6d, inferior to medium Is Id to Is 4d.
There is practically no change in the wheat market. Prime velvet and Tuscan are in demand at late quotations, but medium lots are not so strongly competed for. Prime milling 4s Id to 4s 2d, medium Jo good 3s lid to 4s Id, best whole fowl wheat 3s 8d to3s lOd, medium 3s 4d to 3s 7d, brdken and damaged 2s 9d to 3s 3d.
