At the Addington live stock market to-day there were very large entries of fat sheep and lambs and •fair entries in other classes of stock. There was a good attendance ot the public arid competition was fairly keen. There was a fairly large yarding of fat lambs, and the sale opened rather weakly, but improved as it progressed and closed at prices ©qnal with those ruling at the previous sale. Freezing buyers operated [freely and took the bulk of the yarding, butchers for the most part standing off. Freezers made 11s to 15s, a few heavy weights making 14s Bd, and light weights 10s 8d to 11s. The yarding of store sheep was slightly better than that of the previous week and included some good lines of ewes and hoggets. All lines wefe disposed of after fair competition at prices on a par with last week’s rates. A line of 185 threequartered wether hoggets brought 10s, average lines of hoggets ('mixed sexes) made 8s 9d to 9s 6d, and culls 7s to Bs. A line of two, four, and six-tooth ewes made 15s lid, fullmouth ewes 14s, and failing-mouth ewes 8s 6d to 10s, Wethers, of which there was a small yarding, sold .at prices equal to the previous sale. There was a large entry of fat sheep, which included a considerable proportion of well-finished lines. The previous week’s prices were well maintained. The range of prices was: Prime wethers 14s 6d to 17a lOd, lighter 12s to 14s, prime ewes 12s to 14a, extra to 16s 7d, medium 9s 3d to 11a 6d, light 8s 9d to 9s, merino wethers 9s lOd to IQs 2d.

The yarding of fat pattle was 294 head, which included some animals of good quality. The tone of the market was more brisk than at the recent sales and an all round advance of 2s per 1001 b was recorded. Bast stepr beef made 19s to 22a, medium 17s 6d to 15s 6d, and cow beef 15a 6d to 17s per 1001 b. Steers realised from £7 5a to £lO 7s 6d, heifers £5 to £B, and cows £4 10a to £7 15a. There was a good yarding of jfat calves, which met with a good de-, mand, prices ranging from 4s 6d to £2 12s, to.age and condition.

The yarding of pigs was a fair one, but the demand was slack for practically all [classes, Choppers realised up to £8 10s, heavy baoouers 50a to 575, and lighter 45s to 48s, equal to 4%d per lb.
