WEDDING.

A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the residence of Mr J. Managh. Halcombe, on Wednesday, 2od iusfc., the parties being Miss Minnie Jane, eldest it mi «liter of Mr J. Managh, and Mr Allen Powell, second son of the late Jar A. Powell, North London, England. The service was conducted by the Rev. Clover. The bride was given away by her lather was handsomely gowned in I bream silk taffeta, with white satin and valenoiennes lace. She also wore a hand embroidered veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet, the gift of Mrs O. Managh. The bride was attended by Miss Elizabeth Managh (sister) and Miss Kathleen McElxoy (cousin) who were daintily attired in cream taffeta, trimmed with white satin and overall lacei and carried pretty bouquets given by Mrs Clover. Mr William Managh, brother of the bride, fulfilled the duties of best man. The brictegroom’s gift to the bride was a gold necklet and pendant and gold biooohes to the bridesmaids. After the ceremony about 100 guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s parents where the customary toasts were enthusiastically honoured. The happy couple then left by motor car for Martoa where they boarded sthe express train for Rotorua Auckland where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s ■ travelling costume was a brown check tweed with hat to match. The mother of the bride was becomingly attired in black silk. After the honeymoon Mr and Mrs Powell will reside at Marton. They were the recipients of many handsome and tasteful gifts.
