The ketch Envy recently brought among her crew five Tobj Islanders whose return is demanded by the German New Guinea authorities. So far Captain Strachan of the ketch has refused to give them up. The German Government yacht Seestren is now awaiting her for the natives. The captain of the Envy has wired to the Federal Government: ‘ * Will Government permit Germans prevent me taking men to Britain to plead their case before the Imperial Government.” The Federal [[Minister replied : “Government sees no other course but for the men to return to Tobi, no assistance will be given to delay the return of the men to their homes.”
