STOCK REPORT.
New Zealand Loan & Mercantile, Ltd., reports for week ending May 14th At Aplti on Tuesday we had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle, the cattle in particular being "Well coloured and conditioned. Stock sold freely and a good sale resulted. Quotations :-Empty ewes 7s 3d, ewes in lamb 9s 7d to 10s lOd, mixed lambs 6a to 7s 4d, cull iambs 2s 8d to 4s Id, 3 tooth wethers 9s 10d to 10s. At. Feilding on Friday there was a small entry of sheep and a medium entry of cattle. The recent rough weather prevented several lines of sheep coming forward. There was a good demand for good quality sheep, but inferior sorts were neglected. Cattle sold well at late rates. Quotations:Sheep, forward ewes 8s lOd, ewes in lamb Us sd. Cattle, ' weaners 20s. 18 month steers £2 15s, forward bullocks £5 10s, 3 year steers good £4 15s, empty yearling heifers £2 10s, heifers in calf £3 9s, store cows 395, forward cows £3 9a to £3 4s, fat cows £4. / Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., report on their Palmerston North sale held on 13th inst:—We had a small yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle, comprising several pens of well bred Shorthorn and Polled Angus 18 months to 2 vearfsteers, also a good line cf Hereford cross weaner steers all of which sold readily'as under: 18 to 2 year Shorthorn steers £8 6s to £3 8s fid. Polled Angns cross steers £3 6s, Hereford cross weaner staera 355, 18 months steers £3 ss, fat cows and heifers £3 10s, £3 lie to £4 3s, forward belters 29a to 39a fid, yearling heifers 80s, vearling steers 35e, store cows 32s fid to £2 8s fid, 2 year bulls 85s. At Feilding yesterday there were medium entries of cattle and sheep. Good larabo met with good competition, also springing cows Quotations: Good lambs 7s 8d to 8s 6d, small iambs to 4slorl, forward empty ewes to Bs, ewes in lamb 10s 3d, mixed large wethers 9s, forward springing cows £4 to £6 17s fid, Backward ditto £3 to £3 15b, 8 months heifers 335.
Messrs Gorton & Son report prices at Feilding sale ,as follows: —Fat cows £3 6s and £3 15b, heifers in calf £3 10s, fat heifers £3 17s, waaners 18s to 32s fid, Jersey cows £B, springing cows £3 12s fid and £5, cow in calf £1 7a fid, fat ewes 9s 4d, fat and forward wethers 11s 3d to Us 7d, 2 tooth ewsa in lamb 10s 4d and 11s Bd, full mouth ewes in lamb 7s 3d, mixed lambs 7s and 7s 3d. Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report on their Feilding sale as follows:—We had a fair entry of shaop and cattle, and have to report a total clearance under the hammer. There was a fair attendance and prices of all classes of stock were considerably above last week’s rates. We quote :—Good 4 and 6 tooth owes 11s fid to 12s Id, fair lambs 6s lid, 7s to Bs, cull lambs 3s fid to 4s. fat ewes 9s 7d to 10s, 3 year bullocks £4 15a to £5 os, store 35a to £2 2s fid, cwos at drop £6 10s to £7 sa, bulls 34s to £2 18a,
