FEILDING TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

The classes afc Apxti, Pohauciua and Ashlinrst wore all increasing, with the exception of the dressmaking class, which had been closed till the beginning of the next term. He had commenced classes in connection with the Foi Icing School for woodwork as follows Diatribe High School, two classes; Lyfctoo Street School, two classes; District High School, secondary department-, one class and Convent School, one cla&s, with a total of 82 scholar*. The cooking class will be commenced later. The average attendance at the pupil teachers’ classes had been 40. Classes in physiology and singing had also been carried on. CORRESPONDENCE. From Feilding A, & P. Association, consenting to assist in formation of wool classing class From Manager of Palmerston North Technical School, stating he hsd engaged Mr Richmond, from the Lougburn Freezing Works, as instructor of wool classing. From Inspector Braik, stating that the Wanganui Education .tsoard proposed to appoint a teacher for wool classing for the whole district. From J. T. Cahill, offering his services as wool classer. The testimonials he enclosed showed that he is an expert wool classer. With a view cf appointing Mr Cahill, it was resolved, That the Board bo informed that it is desirable that an instructor be appointed solely for the Feilding district, and subject to the approval of the Board the appointment be made. The Director stated that the art of wool classing could be taught in two terms cf 20 lessons at a charge of from SOs to £2 each pupil, The committee anticipates that classes can be formed at Wait-ana, Pohaugina, Kimbolton, Sandon, as well as at Feilding, and possibly one at Apiti.
