The Daily News interviewed Sir Robert Stout, who said that the children who were secularly trained in New Zealand produced only half the number of criminals in proportion to the numbers of those trained in denominational schools. He added “The attitude of the English Nonconformists and Liberals amazes me. They seek to disestablish the Church and yet seek to maintain the sect school as the children’s church.”
