HUNTjuRYILLE RIFLE CLUB. The Hnnterville Rifle Club held their half-yearly meeting on Saturday. The weather was showery and the arrangements were [considered primitive by some of those present. The following are the chief prize winners:— 200 Yards.—Ool.-Sergt. Perrin, P.N.R., scratch, 34; R Lnmsden, Sandon, for., 33; Rifleman (J. J. Beauchamp, Mangamaku, sor., 38. 500 Yards.—Sergt. Needham Palmerston North, scratch, 34; D. Beauchamp, Mangamaku, 1 point, 83; Private Jacobsen, Manchester Rifles, 1 point, 33, 600 Yards.—Private R. Belk, Manchester Rifles, sor., 32; Rifleman J. Nix, Apiti, sor., 3!; Trooper Weston, Hnnterville M.R., scr., 3K Mr Harrison’s belt and Mr.McManaway’s gold and silver medal for highest aggregate at 500 and 600 yards was won by Yol. Belk with 65 Teams Match. —Manchester Rifles: Belk, 3 points, 97;“ Capt. Baritrop, sor., 89; Private Jacobsen, 7 points, 88; Sergt. Jones, 8 points, 88; Private Mayhew, sor., 86. Total 448. Palmerston Northfßifles, the only other competitors, made 444. ' Best aggregate at 200 and 600 yards, with handicap.—Rifleman Lnmsden 64 off soratsh, who also won Mr Hammond’s special prize; Belk, ,oae point, 64; Weston, 2 points, 64. Highest aggregate for all ranges, including handicap;—-Yol. Belk, 3 points, 97; Yol. Lumaden, 1 point, 95; V.ol. Needham, scr., 94. Yol. Belk won Mr Berry’s gold medal for highest aggregate with handicap. Mrs Whalte and 'Mr 1 Berry’s silver medals for highest aggregate at 200 and 500 yards was won by Sergt, Jones, Manchester Rifles, with 66. CHELTENHAM RIFLE CLUB. At the meeting of the committee of Cheltenham Rifle Club it was decided to shoot for prizes given by residents on Monday, May 24tb, shooting to start at 11 a.m.; ranges 200, 800, and 500 yards. Ladies are invited as a match at 500 yards is arranged for them. Afternoon tea will be provided on the range. A challenge was received from Kimboltou to fire a match on May 23ud, but as this date was unsuitable it was decided to ask Kimbolton to come to Cheltenham on June 3rd. The Club will tiro a match on Saturday next agaiust Manchester Rifles at Feilding, shooting to start at noon. Following will represent Cheltenham:—-Capt. Barrow, R. Barrow, E. Fittou, O. R. Fittoo, Rich. Taylor, R, Taylor, O. Bussell, H. Eurrc'J, F. Barratt, R Stuart.
