The Government has appointed a committee, with Lord Rayleigh as chairman, to advise the Admiralty and’the War Office uponjthe construction of balloons and aeroplanes. The committee 'has been supplied with,funds for experiments. Received May 7, 8.35 a.m. London, May 6. Oapt. T, W. Dunne disclaims the statement that he made a 7 flight of twelve miles, and states that the War Office has resolved to confine experiments to dirigible balloons. The Wrights have sailed for America, and return to England in the autumn. Rome, May 6. Lieutenant Calderara, a pnpil of the Wrights, while aeroplaning at Rome, fell one hundred feet. The aeroplane was wrecked and Oalderara was injnred.
