The weather in the early morning was threatening for tie first day of the Wellington R.O. Meeting. The attendance was fair. As the meeting advanced light rain fell, accompanied by a strong wind. Tne course was somewhat hsavy. The totalisator investments were £11,528, as against £11,464 for the corresponding day lasr year. Bookmakers’ fees were £362. Results: —

B. Deeley, the Auckland horseman, whose mount fell with him yesterday, is not dangerously hurt. He suffered a severe scalp laceration. He leaves for Auckland by to-day’s train. -
