Tne latest acquisition to the township is a street lamp lit with acetylene gas. It is placed on the Post Office corner, and being provided with three burners, throws brilliant rays of lightover the main thoroughfare. Whilst on a visit to the butter factory on Sunday, with two other lads, Arthur Obeli was .severely scalded by an assistant throwing a bucket of hot water ever his legs. Medical assistance was summoned, and the sufferer given relief. The sale of gifts in connection with the Methodist Church promises to be a big success. A host of articles both useful and artistic’are already in possession of the comniitA memorial service was held in the Army Barracks on Sunday as a token of respect to the late Miss Laura Prince. The Adjutant, Lieutenant, and other members of the corps paid a noble tribute to the deceased’s patience and cheerfulness daring her years of affliction.
