Pheasants are reported to be very plentiful in the Tongaparntn and Mokau districts. Auckland Rugby Union rejected the Southland proposal of shifting the headquarters of the New Zealand Union periodically, considering that Wellington is the inost convenient centre. John H. L. Dobbs, 17 years of age, apprenticed to the engineering trade, at Fraser’s Foundry, Auckland, was assisting a boiler-maker who was working on the back portion of a boiler, which fell and crushed tha lad to death. His parents live in Auglesea Street, Auckland. : The meeting of creditors of Harry Raid, late stable-keeper, Marion, called for to-day at Marton, lapsed for the want of a quorum. Mr Rodwell, D.O. A. .examined the bankrupt and said nothing was shown to cause comment. There were no assets and bankrupt had no offer to make. The meeting was adjourned sine die. Following are the liabilities :-H.
