Press Association. Auckland, April 17. Mr Ngata, interviewed at Hnntlj, stated that the Tokaanu Laud Conference Committee did not approve the proposed abolition of the Native Appellate Oonrt and reversion to the old system of rehearing, which was very costly to litigants and multiplied delay. The committee suggested that the procedure of tbe Native Laud Court be amended to facilitate exchanges, and ;thafc Government appoint commissioners to carry on a wholesale scale exchanges between various sections of a tribe. The committee insisted that Government should perfect a system cf settling Maoris on their own lands, and expressed the Jopiuion that the time has not arrived when restrictions against alienation may be altogether removed.
