FEILDING A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of tbe general committee was held last night, Mr H. Burrell in tbe chair. CORRESPONDENCE. From Robt. Browne, Hawera, returning cheque /sent him for expenses as judge at the recent show; and from W. Perry, declining pay ment—Votes of thanks passed aocordingly. From Jersey Breeders’Association, submitting a list of competent judges and stating it was done with the object of assisting the Feilding A. &P. Society.—Received and referred to Cattle Schedule Committee. From J. B. Johnstone., senior steward, in regard to Mr Stretton’s complaint of the "judging of dairy cows, stating that the cows were stripped at the appointed time. There was no cause for complaint. • Mr Johnstone’s explanation' was considered satisfactory by the Cumin ifcteei From Manawatu A. P. Association, stating that a circular had been sent to members of committee of the Conference of A & P. Societies, asking their views as to practicability of forming a Royal A. & P. Society for New Zealand, but several bad not yet replied. From same, stating that a conference of Associations would beheld on 24th June at Palmerston, and asking for resolutions to be forwarded for discussion. From Edwin Hall,'secretary of A, & P. Conference, stating that the committee or last Conference were taking steps to hold another this year at Wellington, and' asking Association to appoint delegates.— Messrs Hugh Burrell and H. J. Booth appointed. From Mr L. E. Jackson, resigning. from committee, and forwarding suggestions re culture of shelter trees in school gardens.—Resignation accepted with regret, and suggestions referred to school gardens committee. From General Manager of Quibell’s Dip Company, offering a sterling silver cup value £2O for competition.—Accepted with thanks. The date of annual general meeting was fixed for Friday, 21st May. The following were elected vicepresidents for the coming year:— Messrs D. H. Guthrie, M.P., J. G. Cobbe, A. F. Fitzherbert, E. Short. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr F. Gillanders, manager of Momohaki State Farm, and his staff, for their attention to members at recent visit to farm. The following were elected members of the Association Messrs R. Aid worth, W. D. Nicholas, Edward Burrell, and S. Fisher. A requisition unanimously signed by officers and members of committee was presented by Mr A. Campbell to Mr Hugh Burrell, president, asking him to allow himself to be nominated for a future term' of office.— Mr Burrell thanked the committee and decided to accede to their wishes. The Secretary reminded members that nominations for committeemen and officers will close on 7th May.
