MEYNELL AND GUNN COMPANY
“TWO LITTLE SAILOR BOYS.”*
A VISIT TO MARTON.
Messrs Meyneli and Gunn’s powerful dramatic organisation will play a one night season at the Opera House, Marton, on Monday evening next, April 19th, when they will stage on a scale of.exoellence Walter Howard’s great soul-stirring drama, “Two Little Sailor Boys,’? anew play that is said to be strong in action, thrilling in situation, wholesome in story, and of unflagging interest. The company is an excellent one, and is composed of some of the cleverest dramatic artists itwas possible to secure. It is headed by Miss Beatrice Holloway (daughter of the late Charles Holloway), Miss Lillian Meyers, a charming and very clever young Ansralian actress, and Mr Herbert J. Bentley,, a clever young English actor. . The great character actor, Mr J. B. Atbolwood, is with the company, also Mr Le Da Chateau, who is well known through New Zealand. The*story of “Two Little Sailor Boys” is mingled with scenes of pathos and homour. It is not difficult to follow, and one can concentrate his whole attention on it. Pathetic incidents are spread throughout, but just as the feeling of pity begins to take a grasp of the audience, it is quickly laughed away by the humour that is introduced. The scenery and staging of the piece will he of a high standard, and quite in keeping with the reputation that Meyneli and Gunn have as caterers for the amusement-loving public. Mr O. R. Stanford will produce the Drama. Popular prices, 4s 2s 6d and Is are advertised. The box plan is now on view at Mogridge & Son’s.
