The Labour Congress negatived a motion in favour of the principle of the Daylight Saving Bill, The chief objection was that the Bill would be used as an excuse to lengthen the hours of labour.

[The Bill proposed to put the clock oa an hour in summer, thus giving a lighter evening, and to move it back an hour in winter. ]
