A group of members of the Council of the Empire are endeavouring to reduce the Russian public holidays by 86. They urge the saving of many million roubles thereby. The clergy are fighting against the reform vigorously.
[All Saints’ Days are regarded as holidays, a fact which seriously interferes with business. ]
