AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE.
United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, Melbourne, April 9. The Minister of Defence has estimated that the preparatory cost of the new military defence schema would be £580,000, and the cost for the first year £1,200,000, second year £1.248,000, [third £1,301,000, fourth £1,325,000. The naval scheme is to cost in the first year £817,000, the second £1,092,000, and the third £72,000 (?).
