At the inquest on Salmon, the daughter who was arrested on a charge of murder, deposed that her father threatened to hill her mother because she refused to take 'some medicine he wished to give her. He followed her out into the kitchen, and witness shortly after, hearing her mother scream for help, got the revolver. She found her father holding her mother by the throat, and she then shot her father. The jury returned a verdict of justifiable homicide. Salmon, who was shot by his daughter, resided for some years in New Zealand, returning to Sydney several months ago.
