Considerable excitement has been caused in the heart of industrial Leeds by the discovery of a seam of coal of good quality under Briggate, one of the principal streets of the city. The, seam is 2ft thick, and arleady nearly two tons of coal, which is declared to be quite fit for household purposes, have been excavated.
