The trial of Bryant, on a charge of manslaughter in connection with the collision between the steamer Dunmore and a naval pinnace on January 3rd, resulted in a verdiot.of not guilty. The Judge, in discharging Bryant, said : This man did the best he could in the circumstances and so far from being blameable he was worthy of a great aeal of commendation for not doing something which might have involved the overturning of the two boats.
