ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTER.

Per Press Association. Auckland, April 5,

At the inquest on Benjamin Mores, a boardinghouse keeper, who died in a hospital frouj injuries caused by a blow with a bottle, the evidence went to show that Mores got out of bad to investigate a disturbance in the house, and charged Joseph Griffiths with having brought a loafer on the premises. Griffiths seized a large square bottle and threw it at Mores, striking him a violent blow on the head, Griffiths when asked why he had done this, Replied that he was sorry but he was in a passion. The jury returned a verdict of manslaughter against Griffiths, who is in custody.
