STOCK REPORT. Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report on yesterday’s Palmerston sale We had a very fair yarding of both sheep and oattle. Young ewes sold well, but old ewes were hard to quit. However, we managed to clear the bulk of the stuff. ,Young oattle sold at current rates, but the demand for big bullocks or steers was very dull. We quote:—Twotooth ewes small 10s, mixed aged Lincoln ewes 9s 3d, 4 and 6-year ewes from 6s to 8s 6d, 6-tooth and 4-vear ewes 9s 9d, 8-year steers £4 19s, 3-year heifers £2, yearling heifers 22s to ;31s, fat and forward cows £3 to £3l Is, old cows 37s 6d,

New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Palmerston North, on Thursday, we had a medium entry of both sheep and oattle. We have- to report a good clearance at late rates. The sale was conducted for the first time by the three local auctioneering firms in the one set of yards with a time limit, an arrangement that proved very satisfactory to both buyers and sellers. Wo quote Sheep : Store ewes 6s, breeding ewes 9s to 10s 6d, forward lambs 6s 4d. Oattle: 15month steers £3, 3-year steers £3 15s, store cows £2 4s to £2 10s, forward cows £3 15s to £3 4s, fat cows £3 10s to £4 2s, 2-year heifers £2, heifer in calf £3 19s, forward heifers £3 16s, fat heifers £3 15s, springing heifers £5, dairy cows close to profit £6. Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report:—At our Palmerston North sale this day, a small entry of sheep and a fair yarding of oattle came - forward :—S.m. ewes Bs., forward heifers £3 16s 6d to £3 19s, fat and forward heifers to £3 Is, fat cows £3 2s to £3 15s, empty cows to £2, dairy heifers to £3 12s 6d, springers £4, 18-months steers £3 7s.
