A DANGEROUS BURGLAR.

Russell Sinclair, a resident of North Sydney, disturbed an intruder in his house and had a desperate straggle. The robber fired twice and seriously wounded Sinclair in the groin. The robber was arrested after an exciting chase, during which he fired several shots at .the pursuers and inflicted nasty injuries on a constable by battering his head with the butt of his^revolv^er. A NEW ZEALAND PRODUCT. Received April 8, 10.13 a.m. Sydney, April 3. According to the police Sinclair’s assailant has been recognised bj finger prints as John Frederick Crock, or Oroke, a recent arrival from New Zealand. He has several convictions against him. Constable Gates who showed such pluck, and who was so badly handled in arresting the prisoner, is also a New Zealander. Gates has received immediate promotion ;as a reward for his bravery.
