DEPUTATION TO THE MINISTER. rress Association. Wellington, March 22. The deputation from Marton to the Minister of Railways this morning asked for better access and facilities at the railway station. The Minist ter offered the alternatives that if the County Council made the approaches in Pipal and Kitchener Streets ana paid . the Department £BOO, the difference between the proposed footbridge and a subway, the latter “would be constructed, or if the Council paid the difference between a footbridge and a _ traffic bridge the latter would be built. The matter of what quantity of w'ator the Department wduid take under, a nroposed new water scheme would also be considered.
