MARION HOCKEY CLUB.

The annual meeting was held last evening, Mr R. H. Oarey in the chair. There was a good attendance of members.

The report referred to the success of the past year, both financially and as regard matches played. Daring the season nine games were played and four wins, .two draws, and three losses was the record. In these matches they had but 22 goals against 18. Their success was mainly due to the generalship of Captain Swinburne, who was ably assisted by Vice-Capt. Outfield. Regret was expressed that the captain had been transferred from Marton. Mr Swinburne was practically organiser of the Club and would be greatly missed. The Club was much indebted to Mr R. H Oarey, who was always ready and willing to hold the whistle. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £5 Is 7d, and assets amounted to £8 9s 4d.

The report and balance-sheet weie adopted. The election of officers resulted : President, Mr O. P. Mather; vicepresidents, Rev. Father Molloy, P. R. H, Brice, O F. D. Cook, B. Lloyd ; captain, Mr R. Q. Outfield ; vice-captain, Mr Christensen ; secretary. Mr H. Y. Cameron ; treasurer, Mr R, Q. Outfield; selection committee, Captain, Vice-Oapt. and Mr R. H. Oarey; committee, Messrs W, J, Mogridge, Christensen, R. H. Oarey, J. R. McGregor, and A. McKenzie.

The subscription was fixed at 5s if paid within two mouths after ejection, and 7s 6d otherwise. It was decided to leave the matter of playing gronud in hands of the committee.

April 20th was fixed for the opening dav. The question of formation of Rangitikei Union was brought up ami strongly supported. This was left to the new committee. Mr Swinburne was elected a life member of the Club, and opportunity is to be taken of presenting him "with a memento of his past sendees to the Club,
