ADDINGTON SALE. Per Press Association. Christchurch, March 17. At Addington to-day there were large entries of stock and a largo attendance. Prices generally showed a still lower tendency. Sound mouth halfbred ewes sold at 14s to 15s, four and six tooth to 16s, and two tooths to 17s 3d, A special line of two tooths halfbred ewes, Wqasleydale merino cross, made 28s. Ordinary crossbred ewes with sound months, but in low condition, made 10s to 11s 6d, and old ewes 7s upwards, forward lambs 10s 9d to 11s 6d, average lots 9s to 9a 6d, travel stained and in low condition 7s 6d to 18s 6d, culls 5s to 6s 6d, forward wethers Hs to 19s, and backward sorts 8s 6d to 10a. ' Fat sheep.—Prime wethers made 15s to 16s, lighter 12s 83 to 14s 9d, prime ewes 11s to Is 6d, others 6s lOd to 10s6d.
Store cattle.—‘The market was easier for all but good sorts. of 50 three year steers made £5 9s, 18 months Hereford steers and heifers £7 ss, two year steers £4 10a, two and three year steers £4 15s 6d,. dry cows 50s to £4. Dairy cows were in good demand at £3 10a to £8 7s 6d. Fat cattle.—Prices, except for very prime steers and heifers, showed a decline. Best beef made 20s 6d tp 22a, medium 18s to 20s, and bow and inferior 16s to 17s 6d per 1001 b, steers sold at £6 2s 6d to £lO 10a, heifers £4 6s to £7 10s, extra £8 8s to £lO 10a, heifers £4 5a to £7 10a, extra £8 Ba, oows £4 5s to £7 5s and extra to £B. Veal calves made 3s 6d to 575.
