KIMBOLTON FLOWER SHOW.
The Kimboltcn Amateur Horticultural and Industrial Society held its seventh show yesterday. The classes were well filled on the whole compared with last year. Mr A. R. Mayo, judge of the vegetable class, expressed himself well pleased with the swedes, mangolds, and carrots. Pot plants only drew five eotries. The judge of the out flowers (Mr B. H. Just) specially praised the dahlias and sweet peas, and said there were several good petunias, while for this time Jof the year the roses were excellent. Mrs urichton as judge of the Industrial Class had some difficulty _in choosing ■ the winning compstitor for the best table centre. The entries were unfortunately classed, there being two distinct kinds of centres, the coloured and the white. The crochet lace was especially good and was a much better classes ot work than was displayed at previous shows. The winner of the first prize bed quilt deserves special mention. During the afternoon Mrs Malcolm Potts gave blackboard illustrations in the art of dressmaking. Afternoon tea was served under the management,ot Mesdames Orabb, Bauer, Richardson and Bartlett. The cooking class was especiaally well represented; intact, the success of the show is due in a great measure to the energy of the ladies, all classes in their charge having heavy nominations, g The following took prizes in the various sections * Pot plants: Mesdames Paweika, Morton and Miss A.
