CLEVER SOCIALISTS.
|SIR.—I congratulate the Socialists on their skill in advertising, also their.economy. They have adroitly used the poverty in Britain to promote Socialistic work here. Everyone knows that if every adult in New Zealand contributed £5 to the “Bread Fund” its effects on the starving poor would be infinitesimal. Resides this, aid from outside means that Britain will still longer delay remedying the causes that produce the poverty and distress With great audacity also the |Sooialista boldly labelled this the “Clarion” Bread Fund, taking the name of their special organ.' Their skill was displayed in getting contributions from'“the other fellows” aa usual, in this case playing upon the charitable feelings of the public.—l am, etc., . OBSERVER.
