BULLS TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs J. E. Walker (chairman), J Stevenson,/ F. J. Mansell, T, King, W. Homes and O. Flower. An apology was received from Mr J. Fletcher.

Correspondence was received— From Municipal Association, re establishing a superannuation fond for employees.—No action taken. From Wanganui Charitable Aid Board, asking for amounts of valuation for rating purposes.—lnformation supplied. From Mrs Jessie H. Broughton and George Webb, requesting to have their names placed on the roll of ratepayers in lieu of John Stevenson.—Agreed fb. . From Inspector of Nuisances, reporting township in satisfactory sanitary condition with exception of a drain in Bridge Street.—The matter of attending to the drain was left to incoming works committee.

Accounts in connection with loan and general expenditure amounting to £95 8s 6d were passed for payment.

The Works Committee reported having completed the tarring of footpaths so far as authorised, bnt regretted that the work was not as satisfactory as could be desired, as the tar appeared to be of inferior quality and lacking in binding qualities. Messrs Walker and King were appointed works committee for ehsuing month. Messrs J. Stevenson and F. ’J. Mansell, who are about to take a trip to the Old Country, tendered tbeir resignations as members. In moving that the resignations be accepted, the chairman expressed his regret at losing the services and cooperation of the gentlemen referred to, who had always carried out their duties in a most conscientious manner and with a view to the best interests of the town. Ho concluded by wishing them a pleasant trip, and a safe retnrn to New Zealand.

Mr King briefly endorsed the chairman’s remarks, and seconded the proposition, which was carried.

Messrs Mansell and Stevenson responded, exprsesing their gratification at the complimentary remarks with which their names had been coupled. Mr Charles Flower was appointed treasurer to the Board in consequence of the resignation of Mr Mansell. DOMAIN BOARD. A meeting of above was held at the close of the Town Board meeting, the same members being present. Correspondence was read from Department of Lands, for photographs of places of interest: ’in the Recreation Ground to accompany the Annual report to be presented to Parliament. The matter was left in the hands of the chairman.

From Mr F. J. ‘Mansell with cheque for £6 15s lOd, being balance of an old sports’ fund which he donated to the Board.

Accounts amounting to 8s lOd were passed for payment. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Mansell for interesting himself in obtaining the donation, and to Mr Homes for erecting a locker and supplying a stove for afternoon tea for tennis players. The meeting then adjourned.
