WARSHIPS FOR SAMOA.

United Press Association.— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. London, March 14.

A Reuter Berlin telegram states that in response to the request of the Governor of Samoa three warships of the China station under the command of Rear-Admlai Onrpey, who is aboard the cruiser Leipzig, are now due at Apia.

The gunboats Jagna and Akona are following. The wire added that the move is in connection with the succession of Matafa, as there is some opposition to German supremacy being organised by the Chief Lanaki, who refuses to obey the Qoyernor, and it is hoped that the presence of the warships will suffice to ensure the punishment of the ringleaders and the prevention of bloodshed.
