Earl Crewe has undertaken to ask Parliament to give a substantial contribution towards covering the Hong Kong Government’s loss arising out of the policy regarding the diminution of the opium traffic.
The House of Lords read the Indian Councils Bill a third time minns clause three.

Several newspapers state that the Premier censured Mr Churchill for his v <remarks on retaliation. Mr Churchill was also heckled in the House of Commons.

In debates in the Lords and Commons some speakers severely condemned the Government for having permitted the Swansea Educational Authority to its Church Schools and differentiate between the teachers in Church and Board Schools.
Mr Balfour ridiculed Mr Runciman’s plea that the law did not allow toe Education Department 'to interfere. The case has engaged public attention for mauy months.
