/Christchurch, March 10. The first sitting of the Commission of Inquiry into the charges asainst the management and employees at Addington railway workshops was held to-day by Professor R. J. Scott, chairman, J. J. Niven, Napier, and E. Robrets, Dunedin. Mr A. L. Beattie, Chief Mechanical Engineer, represented the officers of the locomotive branch. The Chairman said the meeting was purely formal and it (would adjourn till 10 a.m. next day after making visits of inspection to the works to obtain first hand information.
