RONGOTEA.
From Onr Own Correspondent. A very successful dance was held in the Coronation Hall on Wednesday, March 3rd, in aid ofthe “Clarion Bread Fund.” The hall was beautifully decorated with evergreens. flowers and flags, red white and blue, and looked very pretty and must have been very gratifying to the Committee, who had spent so much care and trouble remembering every little detail, while the beautiful archway in the centre for the Grand March, was a work of art. The floor was perfect, while the music, supplied by Mr jMcMinn, of Palmerston, left nothing to be desired, and the immense throng of dancers expressed the enjoyment of all. All officials concerned wore a scarlet rosette and spray of heather. The Committee wish specially to thank those who so liberally contributed with coin and food (of which there was an ample supply) from the surrounding districts, and the doorkeepers, also Mr Amesbury for the use of crockery and ifiany sundries, not forgetting Mr Dennis with his cart for bringing things from far and near and attending to coppers, etc. The duties of M.O.’a were admirably performed by Messrs J. Rodgers. As all tickets are not yet sin a financial statement will be published later*. A meeting will be held on Monday night.
