MARTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
A meeting of the committee of above took place last evening. Present: Messrs J. .T. McDonald (chairman), Richardson, Parnell, Dolby, Mossman and Train. The director reported that the attendance at various classes on the' first night was as follows Arithmetic 6, composition 6, woodwork 2, bookkeeping 5, drawing 1, elementary singing 18, dresspafcing 6. By a personal canvass he had enrolled, 8 more students for bookkeeping, 11 for home nursing, and 3 for dressmaking. It was. thought that the classes would fill better when the weather was less favourable for spending the evenings out of doors. Subsequently the meeting of the school committee was held. The secretary reported that 548 tickets were sold for the school excursion, and the receipts showed a credit balance of £2 4s Bd. The headmaster reported on the attendance as followssPrimary average roll 278, average attendance 234, percentage 80. Secondary: Average roll 26. average attendance 22, preoentage 84.
