FREEMASONRY.

- LODGE RANGATIRA NO. 71. The installation meeting of above at Huuterville last evening was largely attended. Representatives of Lodges came from Rnapehn (Marton), Otaihape (Taihapel, Rangitikei (Bulls), and other lodges were well represented. The ceremony was conducted by Bro. R. Fletcher, P. G.M., Bro, J. O. Smith, P.M., acting as Director of Ceremonies. The address to the W.M, was given by the Provincial Grand Master, that to the Wardens by Bro. F. G. Hilton, P. M., and tbafe to the Brethren by Bro. W. Meldrnm, P.M. The working tools were presented as follows : M.M. by Bro. J. G. Oldham, P.M. ; F.O. by Bro. F. G. Hilton, P.M.; E.A. by Bro. T. A. Garratt. The new W.M, is Bro. E. L. Ironmonger, and the following is the ‘list of the newly invested officers:—l.P. M., Bro. W. G. Ashworth; S.W., Bro. H. R. Street; J.W., Bro. R. A. Campbell; Chaplain, W.‘Bro. A. S. Brocket; ‘Treasurer, Bro. T. B. Mowat; Secretary, Bro. J. A. Dixon; S.D,, Bro R. B. Cole; J.D., Bro. W. R. AVoclford; D. of 0.W., Bro. W. R. Lyall; 1.G., Bro. A. S. Johnson; S.S., Bro. T. Chisholm; J.S., Bro. J. Chisholm; Tyler, BroJF. Ensom j’Orgauist, Bro. W. H. McLean. On behalf of the Lodge the P.G.M. presented I.P.M. Bro. Ashworth with a P.M.’s. jewel in appreciation of srrvices rendered during term ot office. After the closing of the Lodge the visitors were entertained at a banquet at which the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured, and some speeches of interest to members cf the Craft were, given, that cf Bro. Canaan, a Past Grand Director of Ceremonies, of the E.0.,‘ being specially l appreciated.
