A cup match was partly played at Feilding on Saturday afternoon between the Palmerston United and the Fielding Cricket Clubs. The United batted first and made 86; Gibbons. 10, being the highest scorer. Ken. Bartholomew, 7 for 13, and R. Cobbe, 2 for 21, bowled for Feilding. 'Feilding went in and Jinade 87; Trevena 21, Brennand 14, Power 20, and R. Cobbe 18 not out, were the chief run-gstters for Feilding. Bartlett, 6 for 45, Wells, 3 for 26, secured most wickets for the United. The latter started their second innings and there were two men out for 13 when play was stopped. The game will be played out nest Saturday.

. SANDON v. HALCOMBS. The representative teams of the above Clubs met atSandon on Saturday last. Sand on went in first and after compiling 157 runs for eight wickets declared their innings closed. The last Halcombe wicket fall fifteen minutes before time, the total score being 98, Sandon thus winning by 59 runs. The winning team did good work both at the wicket and in the field.
