APITI NOTES.

Early on Tuesday morning a fiveroomed house occupied by Mr W, Little, of Table Flat, was totally destroyed by fire. Very little of the contents, were not insured, was saved. The outbreak is attributed to a defective chimney. Mr John Gould met with a bad accident last week. He was standing on a load of hay when the horse suddenly moved backward. Mr Gould lost bis balance and fell on the hames, severely lacerating his arm. It was found necessary to sew up the wound witn seven stitches. The annual meeting of householders to elect a Technical School Committee was held on Wednesday. Mr Fossey, the Feildlng director, was present, and answered a number of questions. The report showed that satisfactory progress had been made in all classes. Sufficient inducement has been offered to start a class in woodwork this session. The Executive Committee of the Hotricutlnral Society have decided to add a section for horses to fchier schedule. A special prize is offered for the best turn-out, including horse, harness, and vehicle, used tfo convey milk to the factory or creameries, and another for the beet qutility horse suitable for a farm. Apiti is still growing. A number of new dwellings have recently flbeeu erected, and sevreal more wiii be started shortly. Three different contractors are puting in full time with their men.
