Received February 13, 8.46 a.m. New York, February 12. Charles Warner, actor, has committed suicide at New York. He was found hanging to the door jamb of a room in his hotel. He left an incoherent and hysterical note, alleging that he was persecuted and blackmailed. Harry Warner explains that his father was suffering from mental derangement and had not appeared on the stage for a year. Warner left cash to pay for his board and funeral. The strap indicated that he had made two attempts at strangulation. London, February 12. The Times’ Capetown correspondent says that some disapprove of the exclusion of natives from Parliament and also urge the exfcenson of the Cape Native franchise throughout all colonies. Such objections do not, however, mar the general satisfaction. The Hon. E. Lyttelton, late Under-Secretary for the Colonies, will visit Canada this year.
