UNREST IN INDIA.

The editor of the Poona newspaper Kal has been . sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and fined 1000 .rupees for publishing seditions ■ articles. „ .. . Bose’s crime, particulars of which were cabled yesterday, and the ot a bomb at a train near Barraokpur upon the same line that .Lord Minto travelled when going for a few days’ shooting in Assam, are believed to emanate from an anarchist organisation distinct from that with which the prisoners now on trial at Alipore are connected. 'The authorities at Calcutta recognise the anarchist movement is of Larger dimensions than was imagined and that incessant vigilance is necessary. The officials strongly warn the Home authorities that Indian ■anarchist leaders are likely to show an increasing tendency to reside in -London or Paris. The train aimed <at was that wherein Mr Hume, Public Prosecutor, was travelling, not Lord Minto’s, which was specially guarded when leaving Calcutta. The •outrage is interpreted as a parting warning to the Viceroy According to Renter, the protracted Allpore trial is inflaming the prevalent discontent. Received February 13, 8.10 a.m. Calcutta, February 12. Bose confessed that he was given a revolver and twenty rupees to kill Biswas. There is an influential movement among Indians to raise a memorial to Biswas. A NARROW ESCAPE. Mr Hume had a narrow escape, the bomb damaging the compartment adjoining the one hegwas’foi.
