Sydney, February 11. The wool sales closed very firm, with keen competition in greasies, which realised the bast rates of the week, and scoured the best of the season. Dunedin, February 11. For to-morrow’s wool sales, the third of the series, 7394 bales are catalogued. Dunedin, February 12. At the third wooljsale of the series to-day the market all round was firm at prices realised at last sale, and there was a slight improvement in bellies and pieces. About 7391 bales were offered. Competition was keen. STOCK REPORT. Loan & Mercantile report:—At Palmerston North yesterday a moderate entry of both sheep and cattle came forward, and a medium sale resulted. Ac Ranmai we had a good yarning of sheep and cattle. Sheep dragged somewhat, but all lines were quitted at satisfactory prices. We q iota : —At Palmertsou N.—-Sheep: Wethers (small) 8s 8d to 9a 9d. Cattle: Weauers IBs, 2 year heifers £2 6s. yearling heifers 255, store cows £2 14a to £3 16s, store cows and heifers 355, light fat cows £3 10s, springing cows £5 10s. At Ranmai on Tuesday.—Sheep: 2, 4 and 6 tooth ewes 12s, f.m. ewes 11s, store ewes 6s 6d, rape lambs 8s 6d, store lambs 5s to 6a, cull lambs 3s 9d. Cattle: 18 months steers £2 10s, forward cows £2 19s, bulls £B, Messrs -Abraham & Williams report :—At Palmerston to-day a good yarding of all classes of stock was offered. Lambs and aged ewes were not so keenly sought after, and several lines were passed at auction, but with few exceptions the various lines changed hands at satisfactory prices. Steers were dull of sale, but other classes all sold freely. Quotations :—Pat 2 tooth wethers 11s lOd, fat ewes 11s sd, 3 tooth wethers 10s 3d, 2 tooth ewes 13s, s.m. ewes 10s 2d to lls, 2,4, and 6 tooth ewes 13s 9d, woolly lambs 9s 9d, shorn lambs 8s 4d to 8a 6d, cull 3 tooth ewes 8s 4d to 8s 6d, cull 2 tooth ewes 8s Id, aged ewes 4s 3d to 6s, onil lambs 2s 3d to 5s 4d. Cattle : Forward bullocks £6 6s, 3 year steers £4 7a 6d to £4 15s, 3% year bullocks £3 18a to £4 10a, fcfat cows £4 to £4 18a 6d, forward cows £2 103 to £3 6s, store cows 80s to £2 Is, dairy heifers in calf 38s 6d to £2 Bs, bulls £8 2s to £4 10s. Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd,, report At our Palmerston North sale on Thursady we had a very good yarding of sheep and cattle and although the demand was not particularly keen, we managed to qnit majority of entry. We quote :—Cull 13 tooth wethers 8s Bd, small 2 tooth wethers 9s 8d to 9s lOd, medium I»mbs to 7s lid, medium wethers to 10a 4d, 5 year Jewes 9s sd, sound mouth ewes to lls, 13 tooth ewes small to 13s 4d, 8 year steers to £4 17s 6d, empty heifers to £2 15s, fat cows to. £3 15s, fat and forward bullocks £6 9s.
