BULLS TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

The meeting convened for the purpose of electing a committee for ensuing year held on Tuesday evening, was well attended, much interest being evinced in the proceedings. Mr Braik, inspector, was also present. Mr T. H. Downes presided, and read the financial statement, showing a credit balance on the®working to date of £25 19s lOd. He also read a long and exhaustive report in connection with the work done during the past year, and indicated what steps should betaken to further the success of the school during the ensuing period. Mr Braik also addressed the meeting, giving useful and valuable advice as to management, eto. Nominations for position on the committee were :—Messrs W. Homes, J. B. Walker, T. McGregor, Rev. E. Evans, R. Hutcheson, W. Kesrney, J. Campion and C. H, Hinkley. On a ballot bping taken the four first-named gentlemen wore declared elected. The committee for ensuing year, therefore, comprises these gentlemen, together with the following ex-officio members, viz., Messrs T. W. Downes,'chairman School Committee; J. H. Gray, head teacher D.H.S. ; F. Purnell, member of Education Board; J. G. Wilson, representing Mauawatu County Council, and T. King, representing Bulls Town Board. The proceedings closed with a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Braik for his attendance and address, a similar compliment being paid to the chairman. A meeting of the newly-elected committee was held at the close of the householders’ meeting, the following being present: Messrs T. W. Downes, J. B. Walker, W. Homes, T, McGregor, ;J. H. Gray and Rev. E, Evans, Mr Downes was , unanimously elected chairman. The following appointments were made Local director aad treasurer, Mr J. H. Gray; secretary, Mr T}. King; advertising committee, Messrs Downes and Gray. It was resolved that the regular meetings of committee be held on last Monday of each month.
